 Exhibit | Napa Valley Museum Display Cases

We are pleased to host the “Land and People from the Napa Valley” presented by Napa Valley Museum Yountville. Starting July 6 through November 17, please visit the Goodman Library at 1219 First Street to access the temporary display in our exhibit room.

2019 Annual Meeting

Napa County Historical Society’s Annual Meeting will be presented by Napa Superior Court Judge, Phil Champlin, and journalist, Lynne Champlin. At 3:00pm we will hold a brief meeting and elect new directors. At 3:30pm, the presentation will begin “A Pacific Pilgrimage, a Tribute to Those Who Served 1939-1945.”
 Lynne and Phil traveled around the world last year on the Queen Elizabeth.  Phil’s father served in the Navy for four years in the South Pacific during WWII  and  their cruise traced many of the areas where his ships served. There will be little known references to Napa wartime history. 
 The meeting is open to the public, and will be held in the Native Sons of the Golden West.

 August Historic Walking Tour

Date: Thursday, August 8
Time: 5:30pm – 7pm
Where: Goodman Library, 1219 First St.
Cost: $15 members, $20 non-members

Join us on our August history tour of Downtown Napa. We will discover the history of Napa County through historic buildings located right in the heart of downtown.

This summer we are hosting our walking tours once a month on Thursday evenings. Tours depart from the Goodman Library at 5:30pm, be there by 5:15pm for check-in.

The August tour will be led by docent and NCHS Board Member, Don Winters.

Friday Nights in the Archives

Date: Memorial – Labor Day
Time: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
Where: Goodman Library, 1219 First St.
Cost: Free admittance

Join us Friday nights at the Goodman Library – We are opening our archives for display every Friday night this summer. Get an up-close glimpse into our collections. Discover the history found in the maps, photographs, ephemera, ledgers, correspondence,  et al.

The displays will be up for one night only, but our collections are always accessible to the public, please contact us to set up a research appointment info@napahistory.org or 707.224.1739.
