Napa County Historical Society has several self-guided tours specially designed for your smartphone or tablet that are full of historic photos, little-known information, rarely-seen maps, and other materials you won’t find on any other tour.
Napa Valley History by Bike
The Napa Valley History by Bike tour combines five regional tours – Napa City, Napa Area, Yountville Area, St. Helena Area, and Calistoga – highlighting the valley’s most historic sites. Some of the locations are well-known while others mostly forgotten, but all are worth exploring. Along the way you will see many historic barns, stone structures, and ghost wineries from Napa County’s 19th century agricultural and viticultural prominence.
Historic Napa River Tour
Walk along the Napa River in Napa Abajo, one of the oldest planned neighborhoods in the county (laid out in 1853). This area of Napa Abajo is dotted with mansions for wealthy ship captains, beautiful residences for up and coming white collar professionals, and many quaint family homes.
